Much more than
a simple affair of style
Girls Gown Bad
Yvana and Jo are two sisters who seemingly have nothing in common. While you might spot Yvana in the streets of Geneva wearing to perfection the trendy boots that everyone has been dying to get, Jo won’t go unnoticed either, rocking her 10 year’s old Doc Martens like no one else. But hang in there, there’s much more to the sister duo than an affair of style!
Both having studied and worked abroad – Yvana in the hectic cities of Milano, London, Paris and Jo electing the Dutch cities of the Hague and Amsterdam as her home away from home, the sisters finally reunited in their home town to start a new adventure together.
Whereas Jo dedicated her Masters degree in social and cultural Anthropology to studying changes in consumption, Yvana pursued her Masters studies in the fields of fashion and luxury.
Hand in hand, the sisters launched Girls Gown Bad, a forward-thinking company that rents designer dresses and gowns, maximizing the otherwise short lifespan of partywear clothing. Girls Gown Bad represents the sisters’ appreciation for upscale clothing, femininity and luxury as much as their will to challenge current consumption habits and explore new ways of consuming and “doing fashion”.
